In her own words:

Life is such a great journey, one with ups and downs, twists and turns, joys and sorrows, and as for me, I love this about life. I have been through some difficult times, but those make the good times that much sweeter. One of the major components of feeling great about life is being in good health. This has not always been the case for me. About a year after my divorce in 2000, I started feeling exhausted and run down. Because there is a history of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) in my family, I went to the doctor with great fear that this would be the diagnosis, especially since stress is one of the major contributors in the development of RA. Fortunately, I did not test positive, but I felt this was a wake up call. I was tired because I was overweight and not taking care of myself, physically, mentally, or emotionally. I had struggled with my weight on and off over the years, especially during my first marriage when constant daily stress was eased by constant daily eating, and felt this was my greatest obstacle to overcome. Though I certainly didn’t change all my habits over night, I started slowly adding healthy foods and habits to my daily life. One major component became a three or four day a week yoga practice, following a DVD that I picked up through Gaiam, along with running and power walking. No one thing has worked for me, but I have learned to combine many different healthy foods, exercises and to feed my spiritual life as well and  find what works best for my life in relationships, my career and the activities in which I engage.

Over the last eleven years I have made many changes and realized that I am the only one who can make me the healthiest, happiest person I can be. This past year has brought some wonderful changes, especially moving back to my beloved New Mexico, and to Santa Fe, where I have always dreamed of living. Attending the Institute of Integrative Nutrition has made an even greater impact on my life and in my calling to help others choose happiness and health for themselves. I am working on my second book, My Ultimate Health Coach, in which I explain how to coach one’s self to health and happiness. The book contains guided journal entries, further reading suggestions, exercise suggestions and recipes. When I wrote Choosing Happiness After Divorce, I felt that I wanted to share with people how to move on from a difficult period, to celebrate each and every day as a gift to be lived, and to help others see how they could apply happiness in their own lives. I had met so many people struggling with anger and bitterness and I just saw how this stifled and stunted their lives. Anger, regardless of whether occurring due to divorce or not, creates an embittered prison that holds you back from a fulfilling and peaceful life.

My goal then is to help you build a platform of overall health by considering all the elements that affect your health: eating, exercise, relationships, activities, spirituality and career. I can also help you realize your dreams because life is yours for the making! Let me help you be the healthiest you can be and build your happiness on a firm foundation of what works best for YOU!
